A little about me:

I’m a Minnesota born and raised artist. While in college I interned at the prestigious Tate Britain, London UK. I’ve shown my artwork at various local and regional galleries, juried shows, and art festivals. My artwork is also in corporate and private collections. In fact, the first painting I sold was to the rock star Kid Rock.

Though I’ve lived abroad and loved it, I can't ever imagine leaving Minnesota with it’s abundant natural beauty and history. It provides me much inspiration for my painting, whether it may be catching glimpses of the Northern Lights over a lake, the vibrant colors of a Minnesota forest in the fall, or even finding beauty in the Iron Ore Taconite mines of Northern Minnesota.

Thoughts on Northern Lights:

My Northern Lights Paintings are inspired by my interest with form and color and the relationship between abstraction and realism in the natural world. The prevalence of the Aurora Borealis in Northern Minnesota with its ever changing form, light and vibrant color provide for me the perfect subject matter for my experimentation with interpreting natural phenomena.

Iron Ore Art:

My Iron Ore Abstract Paintings are comprised of Iron Ore Dust, Taconite Pellets, Acrylic Paint, Gold Leafing, and Plaster wrap. My Paintings are an homage to the Iron Range and its topography and wealth of natural resources. They are inspired by my husband who is a native Iron Ranger from Virginia, MN.
