Commissions Overview

Please visit Amber Elizabeth Darling's Commissions Gallery to see some of her past commissioned works and to get a general feel for her kind of painting style, which can range from realistic to contemporary. Amber is willing to work with you to get the kind of painterly feeling you'd prefer and will show progress on your painting by taking a digital image and sending it to you via email or mail. In order to assure that you are completely satisfied with your product, you, the buyer will have multiple opportunities to see and approve of the progress.

First, the purchaser sends a photo and an idea for what your expectations include. Next, Amber will send you her sketch on the actual size canvas that was decided upon. Amber will send you a digital photograph of the sketch either by email or U.S. mail, whichever you prefer. After your approval or after your corrections, Amber will start the painting as soon as she receives a 50% deposit and it has cleared with her bank. Amber will again send you a picture with her preliminary painting to give you a sense of the colors that she is stylizing for your painting, which will provide the purchaser with an overall feel and mood of the piece. Finally, Amber will send a photo near the end of her work. After the third approval is received from the purchaser, Amber will finish the small details or changes on the painting.

Amber is willing to paint any type of composition that you send to her. She requires either a higher quality digital image or at least a 4x6 photograph. Amber is willing to paint people, animals, still life, landscape, and abstracts. Amber is willing to combine two photos into one. For example, if you have a picture of your dog in the backyard but do not want the chain-linked fence painted, Amber can change the background to whatever you would like.

18"x24" is Amber's standard size for paintings. Feel free to contact Amber for pricing on larger pieces and on shipping the larger pieces. All paintings will be done on stretched canvas with a depth of three quarter inch. If you would like a deeper depth, additional charges apply for purchasing different canvas stretchers.

Please plan on at least two months from date 50% deposit is received and cleared with her bank for Amber to complete your work. Your finished painting will not be mailed until the remaining balance is sent to Amber in full and has cleared with her bank. An 18'x24" landscape will cost $150.00 plus $30.00 shipping. An 18x24 portrait of one person will cost $250.00 plus $30.00 shipping. Each additional figure added to a portrait piece will cost $75.00. Shipping would then be 10% of the purchase price up to a maximum of $50. Minnesota residents are responsible for 6.5% state sales tax. All shipping will be UPS Ground Service or US Mail and all paintings will be sent insured. Free delivery in Minnesota may be available, email Amber for more details.

PayPal is the prefered method of payment. Amber will send you an email invoice from PayPal to your email account. A personal check or money order is also acceptable.

Refunds will not be given on commissioned pieces due to the buyer having many opportunities to see and approve or disapprove of the piece throughout its progress.
